Suffering from eczema on your face is not only physically hard to treat but it can also be mentally challenging to deal with.
Eczema (Atopic dermatitis) has many different forms but all are difficult to treat on your face. Your face is one of the easiest parts of the body to cream as you don’t need to get undressed or be in the privacy of your own home to apply your treatment. However, your face is also open and more susceptible to the elements and needs more care than other parts of the body.
Flare-up on your face Verses Daily eczema facial care
The exact cause of eczema is unknown, experts and researchers believe environment and genetics both play a part in causing eczema. Something triggers the immune system which affects the protective barrier of the skin which then becomes dry, sensitive, and irritated. Eczema isn’t curable, but certain elements can make the symptoms worse, anything including allergens such as dust, household products like soap or synthetic fibers, cold weather, or stress. How to treat eczema on your face is all about being in as much control over your eczema as possible.
If you don’t control any one of these elements, temprature, moisture, contact irritants and chemical reactions then you could end up with an eczema flare-up which is a Nightmare to deal with emotionally and physically and can take weeks to overcome.
Treating your eczema daily and having a consistent routine is the key to managing eczema, I say managing eczema because even the best creaming routine won’t cure your eczema.
Eczema treatments to help manage eczema on your face
There are thousands of different treatments available online or over the counter that claim to cure eczema. If a product says ‘ CURES ECZEMA ‘ then I would stay away from it.
Whichever cream you try, please make sure you always check with your Doctor or GP before applying to your skin. You also need to make sure the cream or Lotion contains no dyes, fragrance, masking fragrance, lanolin, parabens, formaldehyde or steroids. All these ingredients can cause long-term health issues.
Unfortunately, we have made this mistake with our son, the overuse of one particular cream that contained Steroids has now caused him health issues and affected hormone growth through his teenage years. ( As if the poor lad didn’t have enough to worry about dealing with eczema )
Natural v Organic is another misconception, some companies will play the Natural & Organic card but never believe their marketing scams. This isn’t to say all companies are lying and we would always recommend using the most Natural and Organic treatments available. Always take the list of ingredients to your Doctor and check with them or your dermatologist, you can’t be too careful when it comes to How to treat eczema on your face.
Avoid Foods that trigger eczema
Certain foods can worsen your eczema. Keeping a food diary of what you eat can help you identify which foods cause eczema flare-ups. If you experience a flare-up after eating a certain food, remove the food from your diet. If your eczema improves, the food may be a trigger food and should be avoided at all costs. Common food triggers include eggs, soy, milk, wheat and nuts. Please consult your Doctor before making significant dietary changes.
Which eczema facial cream have we tried and approve?
I have used many creams throughout my 46 years of treating eczema and one of the best creams that worked on my face was Vanicream Skin Cream. I used it for over 10 Years and I only stopped when my Doctor would not prescribe it for free anymore. So I had to find another cream that worked just as well, I found Diprobase works as good and my Doctor would prescribe it. So I changed but I honestly thing Vanicream Skin Cream was good if not slightly better than Diprobase.
If you click any of the links above they will take you to AMAZON where you can purchase Vanicream and Diprobase and if you purchase them we will earn a small affiliate commision that helps us run the ECZEMA SUPPORT WEBSITE. So we thank you for using the links.
The only downside of Vanicream verses Diprobase is that Vaniceam is slightly thicker and a bit harder to apply to your face. Other than that Vanicream is great on the face.
