How Do You Use Childs Farm Baby Moisturizer?
The best and most effective way to use this moisturizer for a baby is to pump a generous amount onto your hands and gently smooth it over the baby’s body, face, hands, and feet. Effectively moisturize each body part to ensure the skin is being completely moisturized with each application. Apply the moisturizer regularly to maintain a sufficient state of moisture along with cutting down the risk of irritation. Be sure not to over pump! If any of this product gets into eyes, rinse thoroughly with water.
Is Childs Farm Baby Moisturizer Safe To Use?
All products created go through an extensive clinical trial that tests the safety of the products. The products are tested in controlled and independent home user trials on newborns and children who have been diagnosed with infantile eczema to ensure that the product is safe to use. This way of safety testing is conducted by an international research company. Any and all results gathered from there testing are shared and universally recognized. The people the company hires to conduct these tests are testing experts and follow a standard, approved, scientific protocol. This protocol consists of 96-hour patch tests on a selection of healthy men and women of all ages who may be prone to or have eczema. The results obtained from this test are then analyzed by dermatologists and pediatricians. If both doctors conclusively believe the results satisfy their criteria, then and only then can the product be approved. After this tedious process is completed, the product can then be safely used on babies and children of all skin types.
With any product that claims to do a certain thing, questions come up that are frequently asked. People considering using Childs Farm Moisturiser for either their baby or themselves ask the following questions regarding this product:
1. Are your products suitable for newborn babies?
“All Childs Farm products are suitable for newborns and upwards other than our sun care which is for babies and upwards. In line with the NHS guidance, we recommend all babies under 6 months be kept out of the sun entirely and therefore do not recommend using our sunscreen products on babies under 6 months of age. We recommend that you carry out a patch test 24 hours before using any product for the first time.”
2. Are your products suitable for skin prone to eczema?
“All Childs Farm products are dermatologist and pediatrician approved as suitable for sensitive skin and safe for people who may be prone to eczema. However, Childs Farm products are not a medicine or a treatment for eczema.”
3. Are your products suitable for adults?
“Yes. Because of the gentle make-up of the products, many adults use Childs Farm products because they don’t want harsh chemicals on their skin. We recommend that you carry out a patch test 24 hours before using any product for the first time.”
4. Are your products tested on animals?
“Absolutely not! We love animals and we are proud to have been awarded the Leaping Bunny certification by Cruelty-Free International, which confirms that our products are cruelty-free. Our products are only ever tested on children and parents.”
“The Leaping Bunny is the globally recognized gold standard for cruelty-free cosmetics, personal care, household, and cleaning products and demonstrates that a brand is genuinely committed to removing animal testing from its supply chain.”
5. Are your products suitable for vegans?
“All our Childs Farm products are suitable for vegans with the exception of our strawberry and mint hair conditioner and our hair detangler, which both contain honey.”
6. Are your products gluten-free?
“All our products are gluten-free with the exception of the Strawberry and Organic Mint Conditioner, Sensitive Scalp Unfragranced Conditioner, Organic Fig Conditioner, Organic Tangerine Baby Bedtime Bubbles, Baby Oaty Bubbles, Organic Coconut Baby Oil, Organic Tangerine Bubble Bath, Organic Raspberry Bubble Bath, Blueberry and Mango Bubble Bath, Grapefruit and Tea Tree Hand Wash, SPF 50+ Sun Cream, Spray and Roll On, SPF 30 Sun Cream, Spray and Roll-On, and the Grapefruit and Tea Tree Hair detangler which contain Hydrolysed Wheat Protein and/or Tocopherol.”
7. Are your products 100% organic?
“Childs Farm products are not organic but contain naturally derived ingredients. Most Childs Farm products typically contain around 96% of Soil Association permitted ingredients. This means we know we’re using quality, robustly tested ingredients from the outset. We pride ourselves on being a fully inclusive brand, and to be 100% organic would have made our price point so high that our range would have been beyond the reach of many mums, dads and their children.”
8. Do you use perfume (fragrance) in your products?
“With regards to the perfume in our products, perfume is a term used to describe any naturally derived or synthetically derived fragrance used in a product. Where possible we try to use natural essential oils to fragrance our products and will only use essential oils that can be put undiluted on to a baby’s skin without harming it.”
“However, there are occasions where we have to use synthetically derived fragrance, such as the strawberry in our strawberry and mint shampoo. This doesn’t mean that the synthetically derived fragrances are harmful it just means that, for example, our strawberry and mint shampoo doesn’t have actual strawberries in it.”
9. Do I need to patch test?
“All of our products are formulated to be extremely gentle. They are dermatologist and pediatrician approved for use on children and newborn babies, including those with sensitive skin and safe for people who may be prone to eczema. However, as a common-sense precaution, we always recommend a patch test be carried out at least 24 hours prior to first use of any new product. The best places to test are inside the upper arm and behind the ear – don’t patch test on the skin that’s already irritated. Take a look at our video on the best way to patch test!”
10. Do your products contain nuts and seeds?
“Our products do not contain any nuts, although some Childs Farm products contain coconut oil and argan oil. These are not classified as nuts in the UK but are in the US so if you have any concern about these, we do recommend that you speak to your doctor or a medical professional.”
“Our products do not contain any seeds although we do use some seed oils, such as sunflower seed oil. We always recommend patch testing the products if your child has an allergy as some of the raw materials are supplied by manufacturers who also manufacture materials containing nuts and seeds.”
“Products and ingredients may also change over time so we recommend checking the label before purchasing and using any product. Please do contact us at [email protected] if you’d like information for specific products or ingredients and our team will be happy to share this with you!”

We have been asked time and time again what’s the best creams and moisturizers for babies with eczema. So, at long last, we have compiled this review Top 10 Creams For Babies With Eczema.
In no particular order, we have listed the best creams and moisturizers that we have found. Our decision has been made through years of treating eczema myself and managing our sons eczema who is now 20 Years old.
Our Son, bless him, has been suffering from severe eczema for over 20 Years now and we have used and tried every form of cream on the market. Some of the first creams we tried 20 years ago contained steroids which have had a longlasting detrimental effect on his body. Oh, how we wish we could turn back time!
We won’t go into this now as we have a full article coming out soon about the use of steroid filled creams and why they are so bad for you. Look out for this blog coming soon.
What’s the difference between a cream and a moisturizer?
Have you ever wondered what the difference is between a Moisturizer, cream or lotion?
Well, A moisturizer is used for increasing the moisture in your skin and your body whereas cream blocks and prevents the moisture loss. A cream is an emulsifying agent used for topical applications.
Moisturizer is absorbed into the skin as it is derived from plant extracts, oils, and other nutritional components.
Creams can be used for many applications, vanishing or moisturizing creams, pharmaceutical creams, etc.
How did we research our Top 10 Creams & Moisturizers?
If you’ve been on our website before you’ll know that I have been treating my eczema for over 47 Years and also managing our son’s severe eczema for the past 20 Years.
We have a large social media following and Facebook page where we all share information and experiences. Read one of our guest blogs here.
We have thousands of comments and feedback from our followers who are all parents of eczema sufferers, who have shared their results from using all the different types and makes of creams and moisturizers available online and over the counter.
We are not backed or sponsored by any company, therefore we can be totally impartial and honest. All the products we have recommended should be treated as a means to manage your babies eczema. They will not cure their eczema, unfortunately.
There is no known cure for eczema and you should always take our advice lightly and not as medical advice. We simply give you options to help reduce their itching and prevent flare-ups. Always speak to your Doctor or Dermatologist before applying any new creams or moisturizers.
What is eczema?
The word eczema comes from the Greek word “ekzein” which means “to boil.”
Eczema (Atopic dermatitis) is a dry skin condition. It’s a very individual condition which can vary from person to person and severity. It is not contagious so you cannot catch it from someone else.
In mild cases of eczema, the skin is dry, scaly, red and itchy. In more severe cases there may be weeping, crusting and bleeding. Constant scratching causes the skin to split and bleed and also leaves it open to infection.
Eczema affects Primarily children most of who grow out of the condition during early childhood, some may, unfortunately, see it recur again in later life. There are people like myself who never grew out of it and have to manage their condition daily to prevent it from affecting their lives every day.
This is an ongoing battle and can affect their physical health and mental state.
Diagnosing baby eczema
The number one giveaway that your baby has eczema is itchy, red, inflamed skin. In older children over 24 Months old, eczema often has secondary telltale signs. Hayfever, patches of red itchy skin behind the knees, armpits, and around the neck are all signs that your baby might have eczema.
A history of dry skin in the family could increase the chance of your child having eczema. If you think your child might have eczema then please seek medical advice as soon as possible.
Don’t guess and don’t rely on friends and family to diagnose your babies condition. Eczema has many forms and all need specific treatments way to control the condition. The skin is a complex organ which is hard to read and sometimes control so don’t take any chances. Seek medical advice as soon as you suspect anything is wrong.
This is the first cream on in our Top 10 creams for babies with eczema and although these are not in any specific order, this would have probably been in our top 2.

One thing we have learned over the years is never reject anything until you’ve tried it. It’s easy to judge something on what other people say but you need to see how the product will react on your skin.
Yes, Organic and natural is best but sometimes you need that bit of extra boost in your treatment when you have a flare-up. Just stay away from Steroid filled creams.

How many time have you seen eczema clickbait headings like these?
Cure eczema forever for £4
Get rid of eczema in 5 easy steps
Vanish eczema with one easy to apply cream
This is a heading in the Manchester Evening News published on the 19th March 2018. I really don’t want to include a link to their article, but I feel it’s important for people to see the type of posts and articles that really frustrate eczema sufferers and really damage the research and funding programs that do amazing work.
If people think there’s a cure for eczema for £4 it could and will affect the funding that eczema research so desperately deserves and needs.
The article tells how a mum, desperate to find a suitable product for her three-year-old daughter found Childs Farm baby lotion for £4 in her local supermarket. The article goes on to claim that after a few days the mum watched how her daughters eczema vanished and was cured.( According to the title )
Further, in the article, another lady claims how within 24 Hours she also noticed her Psoriasis had nearly vanished. Now I’m not saying these people are lying or the story is made up. But what type of eczema ( if indeed it even was eczema ) did they have? Was it simply dry skin? Did it come back after they stopped using the cream? There are so many different variables but the headline said £4 moisturizer CURED eczema, that’s where I have an issue with the story.
Eczema miracle cure or clickbait?
We have read a ton of articles this week all claiming miracle cures and all backed by huge advertising campaigns by national newspapers and big supermarket chains.
Let’s look at the facts.!
Is child’s farm moisturizer £4: Yes
Is Childs moisturizer a good product for children with eczema: Yes
Do we like Childs farm products: Yes
Will Childs Fram cure eczema forever? : No
Will using any product for 24 hours cure Psoriasis?: No
We are not denying those mums and people featured in the article used these products? NO and we are not denying they may have seen some amazing results and an improvement, But is their eczema and Psoriasis cured forever?
We can’t answer that question as we are not Doctors or the parents of these children. However, I think it’s highly unlikely that they were cured in such a short period of time, if at all.
Eczema is an untamed beast, that sometimes tricks and fools even the most experiences eczema sufferer. One minute you have a total flare-up and the next you can hardly notice you ever had eczema. It’s the nature of the eczema beast I’m afraid.
Do these products work?
We can’t tell you that as everyone reacts differently to treatment and the type of Eczema you have will require a different form of treatment. Your doctor will consider all the facts when prescribing a suitable treatment. Type of eczema, Age, Environmental conditions, Work life balance, sleep, Your mental state, and many many other factors.
Trial and error is sometimes the only way to find a suitable product that works for you personally. I must have tried over 100 different products over my 46 Years of searching for the miracle cure. Do I still have eczema? YES
We are not denying these products work, We all know the best way to control ( NOT CURE ) eczema is to maintain high levels of moisture in your skin. A good daily moisturizing routine will certainly give you the best chance at controlling your eczema.
A good quality moisturizing cream that works for you is the lifeblood of an eczema sufferer. I don’t know what I would do without my cream. I use Diprobase which I get on the NHS in the UK. If you don’t live in the UK you can purchase it from AMAZON.
We know lots of people who also use the product in the article CHILDS FARM products and they work well. My argument is with the papers using clickbait headlines to fool people who are already vulnerable due to the struggle they have both mentally and physically with eczema.
What is clickbait?
Here is Wikipedia’s description of clickbait.
(on the Internet) content whose main purpose is to attract attention and encourage visitors to click on a link to a particular web page.
“these recent reports of the show’s imminent demise are hyperbolic clickbait”
Eczema and depression
Eczema is full of complications like side effects, long-term steroid use, lack of sleep, physical and emotional issues and relationship problems. So do we need false hopes as well? Nope, I think not.
I myself have had to deal with eczema and depression throughout my life and let me tell you depression is not to be messed with. I wrote an article ECZEMA AND DEPRESSION which may help you if you too are suffering. My advice if you are is to seek medical and professional help straight away! Don’t delay, every day without professional help is a day out of your life lost to depression. PLEASE DO LIKE I DID AND SPEAK TO YOUR DOCTOR!
We believe offering people hope is fine but as long as it’s a realistic hope and not a dream. We can all dream but we don’t want your dreams to become nightmares.
Do you recommend Childs Farm products?
YES, We love Child farms products. We are currently doing a review of the products ourselves. OUT SOON! We are also in no way claiming the people in the article are lying when they say they saw an improvement in their children’s condition. Good luck to them, we certainly hope they did find their miracle cure for eczema.
Especially for £4 lol
Eczema products are notoriously expensive and sometimes the amount you use adds up. So finding a product that works and is cheap is excellent and we hope you all find such a product.
Children who have eczema can get better by the time they go to school. Some people may actually outgrow their symptoms during the adult years, but many more, unfortunately, will have it for the rest of their lives. There’s no way to tell if your eczema will go away completely, but it’s possible that your symptoms may lessen as you get older.
You may have occasional “flare-ups” and it’s possible for your condition to get into remission from time to time. This can confuse some people who may think their condition is cured so they start to ease off or stop their treatment. Only to find out when it returns that their CURE wasn’t an actual cure. It helped your condition go into remission for a short time.
We know this blog may be a bit controversial, especially if someone has tried a treatment and their eczema has gone away. Our mission with this website is to generate awareness of eczema and help raise funding to find a true cure for this horrible skin condition.
We feel Eczema clickbait advertising will detract from the real issues and the real fundraising done by associations like National Eczema Association which do amazing work to raise funding for eczema research.
Let us know if what you think about marketing like this.
